BIGGEST THRILL: Doing the Kamikaze at Aquashow once a year with my kids.

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Not enough IPA on draft in the Algarve (seems to be plenty in Lisbon & Porto!)

FAVOURITE FOOD: Almost anything slung on to a charcoal grill.
FAVOURITE PORTUGUESE FOOD: Picanha, half chips, half rice and a bit of salad.
FAVOURITE DRINK: A hoppy IPA.
MISCELLANEOUS LIKES: Did I mention the IPA already? – OK – the weather during a Portuguese autumn. Watching any Premier League match on the telly. History – both of the world and Portugal. I hated it in school (almost certainly due to boring teachers who never put events into context).
MISCELLANEOUS DISLIKES: Brussels sprouts & aggressive tailgaters
FAVOURITE TV SHOW: Narcos and the last one from the same writers ‘Griselda’ featuring Sophia Vergara.
FAVOURITE FILM: Scarface (several other gangster & mafia movies make up the top ten).
FAVOURITE SINGER: Jim Kerr (of Simple Minds).
FAVOURITE ACTOR: Al Pacino (and Robert De Niro).
BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON CAREER: The knowledge that if stop playing my belly will grow.
BIGGEST DRAG IN SOCCER: The realisation that the feet won’t do what the brain still thinks it can do, as you age.
WHAT ONE ITEM WOULD YOU TAKE WITH YOU TO A DESERT ISLAND: Solar powered radio.
WHICH PERSON IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO MEET: Dalai Lama – as you only get to choose one, I think he could ‘enlighten’ me as to what all the other famous people are like and therefore satisfy my curiosity.
